Apparently, Kyle Wellwood has asked for a trade. Two thoughts: 1. You have to have people want you to get traded. 2. Give him another shot with a different coach who will certainly be hired next year.

brian campbell to the sharks. (Tsn.ca) we knew the sharks were after a puck moving d-man--redden and kaberle both refused to waive NTCs. what do you think?

Makes good sense for the Sharks. They get an all star puck-moving d-man for the playoff run and a chance to sign him long term w/o giving up a key player.

From the Sabres point of view, they get 2 young players for a guy they were going to lose anyways which is better than losing him for nothing ala briere/drury.

my issue with fletcher is that he didn't/couldn't do the job he was brought in to do. you can say his hands were tied--and they were--but everyone knew that when he was hired. he was hired to un-tie them. he couldn't do it.

also, why did he not trade nik antropov? in my opinion, this is the highest value he will ever get. this is his career's best year. should've traded tucker last year (if he'd have gone). i'd have rather traded antropov than kilger, to be honest.

Without having followed the Leafs too much, I see your point. But judging him based only on the deadline day istelf, I'd still say he did a decent job. Better than nothing.

hahaha....matt, i would have expected that comment from the maple leaf brass: "decent job" means "better than nothing." that's been the problem: anything above complete zero has been acceptable! :)

:) as long as they're in our division I'll be happy to compliment their mediocrity

The Sabres' acquisition is on pace for about 40 goals for the rest of the season!
