Bad Blogger?

Here are 3 Signs I thought of that indicate you are a bad blogger

Strike 1: The first thing people look at when they get to your blog is the current google ad
Strike 2: The only post you've made in the past month was an apology for your lack of posts
Strike 3: You're plannning to copy & paste this post to make up for #2

Can anyone else think of some 'signs' of a bad blogger?

Yes, I confess. I am a bad blogger. In fact, I am more than a bad blogger. I am the worst blogger in the history of bloggers. There, is that a sign? When the blogger his/herself says he/she is a bad blogger?

BTW, Matthew...are you going to be anywhere near Niagara Falls this Friday or Sunday?

People taking Blogging vacations....
Lately, as I peruse blogs, I am sadden by the lack of posting. Since I like lists, I have listed some possible reasons why people aren't blogging. If you fall into one of these categories, leave a comment and tell me which one. Feel free to add to the list.

1. College is out and they are not in front of a computer as much.
2. Your mom tells you to go play outside instead of sitting in front of a computer.
3. Nothing exciting is happening in peoples lives.
4. There are no blogging ephiphany's occuring thus people don't blog because they have nothing to say.
5. Your in the process of moving and don't have internet hookup.
6. Your life is very busy and you want to post, but just don't have time.
7. You are quitting blogging.
8. People are on summer vacation.
9. You are too busy commenting on other people's blogs instead of posting on your own.
10. Your computer broke.

I wrote this on my blog a while ago. I actually just cut and pasted this.

I doubt you are the 'worst blogger in the history of bloggers.' You're probably 2nd. Maybe even 3rd. So don't be so hard on yourself.

In regards to my proximity to Niagara Falls, I will be the same distance as usual...about an hour. Which side of the border?

Heather:
Yes, I remember this post from not too long ago. I have no problem with people not posting a lot, but I'd like consistency. If you set out to post once a month and actually do it, cool. Once a week? great. Once a day? Rad.

But if you have no real intention to blog...just delete your blog. Or make a final post saying your done blogging for a long time.

Personally, I really like blogging. I made a goal to post every day. This forces me to THINK of something every day. And it only takes a few minutes.

i enjoy actually having time to post lately. i will agree, though, posting to apologize for not posting is pretty lame. that means you're assuming that lots of ppl are reading your blog, and there's no room for egos in blogging.

i just developed a blogology...hm...

Throughout the day I'll think of something and actually make up a blog in my head.. but then when I get home I forget what it was all about so then I just don't blog anything. Maybe I should start making notes...

I guess I'm just not in front of the computer as much as I used to be. Maybe when I get my own up and running, things will be different.

I was just wondering about this weekend, Matthew, because a carload of us are passing through New York/Niagara Falls to go into Brampton for Travis Tait's wedding. The ones you would know in the car are myself, Ryan LaPaire, and Mark Wright. Thought maybe we could arrange a little coffee date or something along the way? Preferably Sunday afternoon or something. Any thoughts?

Ummm...it'd be nice to see ya'll...My boss is on vacation right now so i'm busier than usual. If you have time/interest you can take a small detour to our church and I will buy you all real good food and stuff. Our church is only 30 an hour from the 90, is that what you'll be on?

Also...there is a Six Flags theme park just off the 90 West of Buffalo (Darien Lake). If you guys have time you could spend an afternoon there.

Sign onto MSN before you leave if you wanna let me know one way or another.

Katie... I think if you're making notes about what to blog - you could just call that a "journal." :-D

To save myself the embarrasment of writing a blog to say it, I'll say it here.

Sorry for not blogging ;) you're the only one who cares anyway.

I totally agree with what you said matt about consistency and if they aren't going to blog anymore, then they should at least say that they are done! I have made blogging a hobby and have learned a lot about the computer. Plus, my family and out of state/country friends really like it so they can see what is going on.

I tried to get them to go, but the driver wanted to get back. :( I wish we could have stopped by, though. That would have been awesome.

You know you're a bad blogger when you post more on someone else's blog than taking the time to post on your own!
