I haven't blogged about politics much lately. I guess that's because it's so depressing. We have 2 candidates for President who both stink in their respective ways. Obama has no experience. He's all talk. And now even his talk is getting downright ridiculous. He has little to no substance. McCain has been able to turn peoples respect for him into votes. I thought he was a slime-ball throughout the primaries. I disagree with his take on his #1 issue.
Meanwhile I am continuing to read Ron Paul's stuff. The guy is right on target. Either the voting is rigged or we messed up big-time. Again. Frustrating.

Definitely feel the same way. I think we should all write-in Ron Paul.
so what the heck do we do? what are you going to do? i don't think i can vote for McCain without feeling like I'm completely compromising my values.
I like obama
I've always thought of myself as republican, but lately I just don't know what I would call myself. I really liked Bush at the beginning, but now I'm pretty embarrassed by him. I feel the same as you do about McCain and Obama. As my mom said, "I wish just once I could actually vote *for* a canadate instead of just against the other one". It's so true. I don't like either one enough to want them to be the leader of my country, but I know that voting for a third party doesn't really accomplish much anyway.
And may I just take this opportunity to say that I HATE the electoral college! I will vote, because I think everyone should. But I know that, being from Illinois (typically democrat, and his home), if I don't vote for Obama my vote is completely worthless. I hate voting knowing that I'm doing it purely on principle, and not actually making a difference!
I love the electoral college, but I'm Canadian and we don't use one. Heck, our whole system is like an electoral college! :)
I think I'm going to write in Fred Thompson. That's who I was behind. Maybe moving to South Korea is the right move for me, lol.
I have never written in a candidate before. I'm actually a lil nervous to even figure out how to do it w/o looking stupid. But I've been reading Ron Paul's foreign policy speeches from BEFORE 9-11. The guy is a political prophet. I am actually open to becoming a conspiracy theorist b/c tons of people liked him and he didn't get many votes. I'm suspicious.
In actuality, my best friend and I have a plan when we vote. I'm going to write his name in, and he's going to write my name in. I'm going to have one vote to become President of the United States of America! Oh, yeah, lol...
write in a candidate??? i know even less about politics than i thought.
