Wesleyans in Bible?

Were there any Wesleyans in the Bible?
Be Creative? I'll start.

1. Michal (David's Wife)
David...danced before the LORD with all his might...Michal daughter of Saul watched from a window. And when she saw King David leaping and dancing before the LORD, she despised him in her heart. (2 Sam 6:14-16)

In our church we sing the song "Hear Our Praises" (Hillsong). The first line is "May our homes be filled with dancing". I have often pondered the irony of singing this in a Wesleyan church, especially here in Peru where that would practically be sinful.

Ok personal pet peeve here. The Wesleyan Church has never been against dancing as a concept only social dancing. In fact at least in this part of the world a dancing in church has a long an honored tradition. Those who oppose dancing and push for a subdued approach to worship are the rebels - the old timers were always game for a good Holy Ghost Jig and a glory lap.

Obviously one's thoughts on 'dancing' vary from 1 wesleyan church to the next. Did many in the holiness movement dance to the Lord? I'm sure. Do many current wesleyans think all dancing should be banned? I'm sure. Many many wesleyans would throw a fit (ironically, in an almost 'dance-like' way) if they saw someone dancing to the Lord in a sunday morning service.

I agree but my point is that anti-dancing is the aberrant position.

Did you hear about how Houghton will now be allowing school dances?

After attending a basketball game at IWU where he saw the cheerleaders doing 'choreography', my father said the founders would be 'rolling in their graves'.

Not because it was choreography..but because what kind of choreography it was.
