You know, personally, I'm not a fan of a church endorsing a certain candidate. I think it's possible to not vote for Ron Paul (or even a republican for that matter) and still be a good Christian. The separation between church and state should go both ways, and just because someone is a Christian does not guarantee they will be a good public leader (I could point out an example, but I'm afraid I might get lynched)
Oh, and I updated too.
Well i think that pretty much puts the nations money problem into a realistic perspective! Honestly how much money can you print b4 the cost of paper out weighs what the dollar is worth. I think that Ron Paul might be onto somthing here.
Steph. Churches aren't allowed to endorse candidates in the US w/o losing their tax exempt status.
The author wasn't saying that CHURCHES should endorse Ron Paul, he's sharing his opinions that pastors should look carefully at Ron Paul as a solid candidate.
Right now, Mike Huckabee is running a campaign in which he is telling pastors and churches that he's their guy. The article I linked to is a dissenting opinion.
I completely agree that a 'Christian' candidate might very well make a lousy president. I think Huckabee might be an example of that (though we'll prolly never find that out).
And you wouldn't get lynched by me :)
Bryan..yeah, I don't claim to be an economic guru, but the gold standard makes common sense to me too.
In regard to pings, I can only recommend that you make sure all your settings are for public and share and whatnot. Other than that, I can do nothing to change the ineffectiveness of the ping services.
just curious what you thought of the recent fall out from some old newsletters published under paul's name that were described and quoted in an article in The New Republic. paul says he played no part in them; he was unaware of them being published under his name.
Nah, he didn't say he was unaware of them. He said he didn't write them. And he said this issue has already been dealt with years ago. And he said he was wrong to not keep a closer eye on what was being written attached to his name.
In any case, the positions in those documents obviously are not endorsed by Paul now, and weren't then, as seen by his writings and speeches from that time which are available for anyone to see.
I also noticed that, though some media outlets put the story up on their site at first, they pulled it within an hour. I'm thinking they realized it was a non-story.
the quotes definitely didn't sound like anything i'd heard him say in debates...not even remotely close. i had never heard of any of it until today. i agree that it's a non-story.
Can Ron Paul fix the pings? I think that's the important question! Speaking of pings - I updated my blog but it was over a month ago so it just makes sense that it doesen't show up.
