Endorsement

A lot of the networks have been asking me, 'Who does The Matthew Never Knew endorse for President of the United States?' Well, after a careful investigation of the candidates over the past 2 months, this blog is ready to endorse Ron Paul for President. Ron Paul is, unquestionably, the candidate for those seeking smaller government, lower taxes, and a non-interventionist foreign policy. Dr. Paul is leading Republican Candidates in number of Straw Polls won and all candidates in campaign funds raised in the 4th quarter. In regards to my #1 issue, abortion, Paul is radically pro-life. As a medical doctor he has delivered more than 4,000 babies. As a member of the House of Representatives he has introduced legislation to define life as beginning at conception.

I have been way more invested in this election than any before. There are a few things I am still a little confused about. Per your advice, I have visited the web sites of all the repub candidates and a few dems. I can't tell a huge difference, however, between Paul and Huckabee. I do see some immigration distinctions, but other than that, they are both pro-life, pro homeschool, want to lower taxes, and share many other views. Can you help me tell them apart?

One major difference would be that Huckabee seems to want the Christian voters to know he's the 'pastor' candidate, whereas Paul doesn't talk about his Christian faith very much.

Another difference would be their actual records. From some articles I've read, Huckabee has a bit more of a tainted history in his political dealings and isn't as conservative in practice as he is in paper (fiscally). Paul, in contrast, is known across the board as radically consistent, for better or worse.

This is just opinion, but I think Huckabee is just a lil too 'slick' for my liking. He's rising up in the polls with one-liners, not content.

Interesting, thanks. By the way, i can't get blog roller to give me ***, and I noticed several others who posted recently and have no ***.

Man, people should just give up on the ***s already. Matt, we know it's not your fault. People just need to learn to use RSS readers instead of your blog (though I'm sure you appreciate the extra hits the ***s brings).

how do you use an RSS reader? What's that?

An RSS reader lets you subscribe to any blog that publishes a feed (most do including this one). Some browsers have rss readers built in. Some sites are readers; some mail programs have them.
