GG 5 & Lost 4

I'm taking over the writing of Gilmore Girls. Lorelei & Chris will go to Paris. Logan will be there on business and Lorelei will catch him cheating on Rory. While she is busy spying on Logan, Chris will fall back in love with that Gigi. The 1st half of the season will end with Lorelei on a plane heading back, alone, to the states.

Who votes for me to be the new writer?

As for Lost, I heard that the writers read the message boards and incorporate the theories of the fans into the storyline! That is quite crazy. Does anyone actually have a legitimate theory on where this show is heading?

i, of course, no longer view gilmore girls, on principle, but my friend meredith filled me in. this was her comment, and i quote:

"ugh. chris totally takes advantage of her. he doesn't WANT to communicate, he only wants kissyface." and about logan: "he's just a big hormone."

these comments made me laugh.

i suggest anyone else who has issues with where the show is headed also boycott it. it is the only way to protest that works. letters don't.

matt, i'm sure that you could do a better job writing the plot. you have my vote.

i am conveniently choosing to not watch Lost at all. instead, I am nursing an addiction to Numb3rs by renting all of the first season...well, Diana is renting them, I am just watching them. :) And of course, they are excellent. The show is just so superior to most...it's not computer-generated like the ever-popular CSI and every other crime-related show. All the special effects are real with believable plot lines, excellent photography and very intriguing characters...the opposite of Lost, if I may say so. Give up on it, Matthew. :) Lost has even less a chance of making sense than the Bills do of winning a game.

well said, jecca. the answer to your question, matt, is, of course, no. no one has any idea where LOST is headed because the show sucks. actually, that's not fair. it sucks because no one has a storyline in mind...and that is becoming so painfully obvious.

one of the marks of a tremendous metanarrative is the mixture of eureka and expectation for the reader: "Of course things had to turn out like that, but I didn't see it coming!" Hence Jesus to his friends on the road to Emmaus: "'Friends, didn't you realize that hte Messiah had to suffer these things?' He then opened for them the Scriptures." LOST has no mixture of eureka and expectation. it's all eureka. all twist and no lime.

thanks ap. excellent observation on your part too.

I am still holding out hope that the end will satisfy the "Of course things had to turn out like that, but I didn't see it coming!" demands.

But my hope is dwindling. My new phrase that I use repeatedly as I watch the show (when others ask me questions about what just happened) is 'who cares'

What don't you agree with regarding the CMA's teaching on healing (obviously this was from another post)?

that quote from Jo is FANTABULOUS! Jo, you must come to Jersey, even if though that quote didn't originate with you. I don't care if you think our stte is ugly. You are misinformed. That's like saying Italy is ugly because Rome is (which it kind of is a little because of the pollution and grafitti--made my snot black!:-).

yeah, "who cares" is how I felt tonight when i asked myself the same question. it would seem that all "the others" do is torture people-mentally and physically. it's like a show with only special effects. something that makes a person think that much about fiction should be destroyed. i think i might feel differently if each season ended conclusively on something, but people who watched since the beginning are just as lost as us, it would seem. at least the writers chose a title that really captures the show...

Steph,

I can't say I disagree with the doctrinal statement regarding healing on the CMA website, but I do take some issue with the mentality of some of the CMA people I've talked to in real life. I was given the impression that physical healing will always occur 'now' once prayed for, and if it doesn't occur 'now' then there's a lack of faith in someone involved.

I, on the other hand, think God might very well say 'not yet' to our request for physical healing. All people of faith will be healed physically, but that healing my not occur until glory.

Feel free to correct me if the mindset described above is not the prevailing one in the CMA. I'd be glad to hear otherwise since I've seen much pain come as a result of that teaching.

Nevertheless, I still ranked the CMA in my top 10 :)

I'm not offended, i'm not even CMA.

steph,
first off, i appreciate that you used the word fantabulous! secondly, if i had extra money and time, i indeed would close my eyes and come to NJ despite the turnpike, simply because you are there.

seriously, you are my "what if she were here?" friend. which means that if you lived near me, or vice versa, we would be fast friends in daily life.

even though we have never met.
