The Complete Guide to Christian Denominations by Ron Rhodes is a well condensed resource for anyone wanting to know the basic backgrounds & distinctives of over 100 of the largest Christian bodies in the United States. Rhodes did a great job of dividing the content into easy to read categories. I used this extensively in preparation for a church history study and it worked very well. Missing were the Salvation Army and Calvary Chapel movements.
