Ohhhhh Bama
I have been slightly embarrassed, this week & today, about the emotional state of the American people (or, more specifically, the American media). This is a love fest. I've seen a few inauguration days, but nothing like this. Big name news anchors are glowing with expectation and love, bordering on worship (and I mean that seriously). This may, of course, sound like a bitter blog from a guy who didn't vote for Obama. But I'm the kind of guy who will allow President Obama to start with a clean slate. This is not an anti-Obama post, but an anti-idolatry post. And I think the festivities are, at best, borderline.

Ummm...did anyone notice that Obama only said half the things Biden said while being sworn in? He didn't say the line about protecting the constitution against enemies both foreign and domestic, and the line after that about serving the constitution. What happened there?
Wow. Good call. Granted, he was having a hard enough time getting out what he was told to say. I can imagine; he must have been uber emotional there. Is all that stuff in the normal Presidential oath? Seems it should be, Mr. Commander in Chief...hmmmm...
Hey Matthew. Your post is not anti-Obama in the least. In fact, I think more pro-Obama people should be dialing down the rhetoric and hype. It is getting quite close to assuring his failure, even if he does what would otherwise have been considered a "good" job. It's getting close to the point that I don't think he can but fail.
Can someone say AntiChri... actually I thought it was interesting how he spoke on both sides of several arguments in his speech. I don't have direct quotes but he would infer at one point that they would stop their own world aggression and then say they will do whatever is necessary to stop oppressors. sounds exactly like Bush to me. 4 more years of Bush!!!!!
You guys have no idea! I'll try to post the Obamamania pics that I took today- they are hilarious. I saw a T-shirt that was Obama's face attached to a boxing champion with the title "Hail the new champain".
I have also had inaguration cake, witnessed an impromptu parade, and generally enjoyed everyone around be being happy and kind to each other.
People are exited- and I don't mind them going overboard (news achors are another story) today. People will chill out- let them be exited.
Haha. Since when has anyone been excited to watch an inauguration ceremony? It's the first I've seen given this much importance. Granted, I'm only 26. I was going to show it to my 4th period class, but unfortunately we don't have enough bandwidth to watch streaming live video.
i agree. the mania is insane.
I didn't watch a minute of it. No interest. I got nauseated everytime there was some news interruption on the subject. I agree...it's borderline worship. And I have to wonder: is it because of what he stands for? Or is it because of his color?
