interestingly, if your predictions are true, your payroll will jump about 10 million--can you afford it?

what did you think of my team signing a 7 goal scorer to 2.5 million?

Last year the Sabres payroll was about 30 million, but they made a good sized profit b/c of the playoff run and speculation says that payroll will increase to about 35 million.

But if my guesses are correct, we're probably looking at around 40 million, assuming they get Ryan Miller a new contract too.

If they're going to strictly stick to their self-imposed budget, we'll probably see Biron traded along with one of either Afinogenov/Dumont/Kotalik. Depending on arbitration awards we could also see Lydman or Kalinin traded for a cheaper 5/6 d-man (since we signed Spacek).

I hope we can keep everyone though, seeing as that would put us on the short list for cup favorites in my opinion.

As for Peca, if you get playoff Peca it's worth it. Most of his value is in intangibles anyways. I predict he'll score 15 goals.
