Jury Duty

I was scheduled for jury duty the week of Family Camp (the one week I really can't do jury duty), so I got out of it. I was re-scheduled for jury duty this week and was almost looking forward to it. But alas, the trial was adjourned and now I won't be called on for at least 8 years.

Have any of you actually been selected to be on a jury?

yes, i served jury duty when i was twenty and taking a year off from college. it was march. it was a drug dealing case. we found him guilty guilty guilty! i met a lot of interesting people from the community, and they stopped in to say hi afterwords at teh store where i worked full time. it was nice, overall. i got to be a part of the justice system, and i got to meet people outside of work and church.

I don't think being a pastor actually makes you inelligible. But it does give you an easy out, as far as I understand it. I got letters calling me to jury duty a couple of times but both times I was moving to another provice or had just moved and the letter came to my old address.

sounds good jo! like i said, i was actually kinda looking forward to possibly being selected

yeah, pastors are usually not selected b/c one of the attorney's doesn't want a clergy on the jury.

thanks for the clarification robin
